The Community Service and Development Center at the University of Jordan is a pioneering initiative dedicated to enhancing the university's role in social responsibility. The Center seeks to align the university’s efforts with the evolving needs and aspirations of society, respond to rapid social and economic changes, and actively contribute to addressing societal challenges.

Operating through a collaborative and participatory framework, the Center engages in planning, implementation, and evaluation in partnership with community institutions. Its work involves assessing societal needs across various sectors, prioritizing them based on available resources and capabilities, and executing social responsibility projects and community service programs that support sustainable development.

The Center's mission is pursued through four main strategic pillars:

  1. Promoting Student Engagement

Broadening student participation in community service activities and programs, while leveraging the expertise of faculty and administrative staff to support community development in all areas contributing to sustainable growth.

  2. Strengthening Partnerships

Establishing robust networks and partnerships with community institutions to foster cooperation and shared responsibility between the university and society.

  3. Empowering Individuals

Enhancing the capabilities and skills of students and staff in volunteerism and civic engagement by nurturing their creativity, entrepreneurial spirit, and integrating modern technologies to maximize impact.

  4. Recognizing Community Service

Ensuring students fulfill the university’s community service requirement, which includes completing specified service tasks and participating in at least three university-approved student activities, as recorded through the Center’s online portal: eservices.ju.edu.jo/JUCS.
